CURRENT COMPETITION:
Dizzywood Room Contest
Prize:
Bragging rights and a trophy!! It’s just a graphic trophy with your Dizzywood name on it that I will make for the winners (gold, silver, and bronze – then blue ones for participants) that you can put any where online. No stealing them when I post them for the winners!
Requirements/ Description:
(Please refer to the YOUR ROOM page — link on left side bar — for information on Dizzywood rooms)
Make your room nice, beautiful, and spiffy! Clean it up nice, and take a picture. You can enter multiple pictures of one room, but you can not redesign your room ten different ways and enter all ten. That would be cheating, seeing as if only three other people enter, you have 10 chances of winning, and the other three people, 1 chance each. (That’d be a 10/13 percent chance of you winning.) So make sure your room is PERFECT before you enter. ;)
The rooms submitted will be rated (judged) by;
1. organization,
2. colors,
3. possible humor,
4. cool-ness,
5. neatness,
6. beauty,
7. how much I would like it to be my room,
8. estimated cost (I will figure this, you do not have to. If you want to, you can, but it’s not a requirement, and I will figure it myself anyways to check you do not cheat – - Seeing as Friend Code items do not cost coins, and to make everything fair, I will estimate their cost at 300 coins)
9. Style (Modern, Old Fashioned, etc.) and how well it goes with that style
10. Theme (how well you matched your theme if there is one) If there is no theme, you will be awarded points instead on how awesome it looks. ;)
…For a total of around 10 points. Extra points will be given for little details, etc, that I notice and award points to. Winners will be chosen upon the amount of points their room recieves. I will not say how many points each room has, to make it fair for everyone and so no one feels bad.
MORE DETAILS:
You will not be awarded extra points on how many pictures you send in.
Try to get picture(s) without people in them. If you are in them, it’s fine! You can also go invisible to not be in the picture, making it easier to see the room.
If you dont know how to take a picture, press the Prt Scr Key (and maybe the function key at the same time, depending on your computer) and then paste the picture into an art program, such as MS Paint or Photoshop. Then upload the picture some where online (some examples are Photobucket, WordPress, TinyPic – - You DO NOT need to sign up for TinyPic in order to upload, so that may be the best choice). Then once that is done, submit a COMMENT with the picture link. (example :: http://dizzywoodnewbie.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/spider.png).

Requirements/ Description:
Make a button for people to use to link back to this site. It should be able to fit in the sidebar. The button should be eye catching, not too busy, and say either DIZZYWOOD (or DW) NEWBIE GUIDE, DWN (Dizzywood Newbie), Newbie’s guide to DW, or something like that. You can make it flash, you can have it glittery, you can have it like a slideshow. Be CREATIVE! Any size picture will be accepted, just dont make it HUGE. Please include your name on it, too. :P (NOT your REAL name, just your Dizzywood or WordPress one) You have copyright. ^^

Both of these buttons are simple, and very nice looking. I like the little square one. :) There are some things I forgot to do to them, that you probably do not notice… but I do, because I made them. xD
A link back “button” is just a picture, usually a square or rectangle, that people use to link back (they do that using the picture instead of text in their link). To make one, just open up an art program (such as MS Paint — Click on start in the lower left, then All Programs, then Accessories, then Paint, for my computer) and draw something to use as a button. (to change the size of the picture in MS Paint, Click on Image up top, then Attributes, then tell it how many pixels you want it to be) For those not knowing what a pixel is, it is one of the tiny dots of color that make up the screen. (I used MS Paint as an example because it’s the most common art program)

Once you have your picture drawn out, save it (I would prefer you do it in PNG format) and upload it. You can upload from WordPress (of course) but there are other sites like Tinypic and Photobucket as well. (you can also do a Blingee button — Blingee.com — but dont make it too eye straining. xD) Then paste the URL, location, address (all the same thing) of the picture in your comment. Whoever wins I will put their picture on the side bar as a thing where you copy/paste the code to put it on your own pages, so people can use YOUR button to link to my site. ;)

Requirements/Description:

Make up a Moto for the ACORNs Club. ) Should be easy enough. For those who dont know, a Moto would be something we say at the beginning of every meeting or such event, like the Pathfinder Pledge. It should be relatively short, catchy, and include no really big words so that we can type it fast. ;) They will be judged on how many of the above (catchy, short, no big words) and if it is ACORN like. Good luck to all participants! D

WINNER: Umm, hmm… I think Legoless and Fluffers tie for first, with their moto(s); “We put the A in Awesome!” and “Being random so you dont have to!” Both have earned themselves bragging rights and.. umm.. knowing they won the first contest I have ever held. ^^ (better prizes in the future, hopefully. >_<” I’ll figure something out.)
