I will now take the time to answer a very popular question around Dizzywood and related fan sites;

Why have coins been the only prize for recent missions?!

Honestly, I think this is because of Halloween and Christmas (and the other holidays celebrated this time of year). When Dizzywood is working on huge projects, they don’t have enough spare time from those projects to work on Missions prizes. The awarded coins may be Dizzywood’s hint to us that we should save up our money for the Holidays, or it may be a sign that they’re working hard in other areas of the site. Notice that in the past, right around the time Withering’s Mine was open, we didn’t have as fun Events (Missions) as we did a month before then. It may also be caused by a lack of workers in the Dizzywood team – you don’t see any way that they make money from their site other than the money from grants and such, do you? No advertising, no subscriptions, and no definite money making on-site. Without money to pay their workers, and especially in America’s current economy, their workers may quit, or Dizzywood might have had to lay off some of their workers in order to stay running for us to continue enjoying the site. Neopets(c) had the same problem a while ago, according to the Editorial in past “Neopian Times” Issues, and is now filled with ads (which are censored in order for the site to stay kid-friendly). There is also the ever-increasing popularity of the “NC Mall”, where you pay real world money for NeoCash (NC) which you use to buy premium items to customize your pets with. Maybe Dizzywood is having the same financial problem. It was announced during the summer that some time around July 2008 subscriptions would be needed in order to access the better parts of the site – Dizzywood Rooms, premium items, etc. This never happened, much to the happiness of many players (including me) but now that July of 2008 has passed, they could drop subscriptions upon us at any time without notice, so be aware. Another possible reason for there being less fun missions, or at least rewards for completing the missions not being as great as they once were, is that they may be trying to equalize the site. Players who go on vacation during the time of an awesome mission reward may get mad or frustrated with Dizzywood for releasing that item while they were gone – it IS a children’s site. Now that Missions are longer lasting, and can be found for months on end after the release of the mission in the new Missions Tab, that hasn’t been so much of a problem. Maybe this is why the prizes aren’t as great – there’s not a time limit in doing them. Whatever the cause, we can only hope that this short period of dull rewards isn’t as long lasting as some of our Dizzywood addictions. We all have one in some form or another, or else we wouldn’t care what prizes we got!
